JoAnna Mendoza to appear alone on Arizona Horizons’ Candidates in Conversation

RED ROCK, AZ – Tonight, JoAnna Mendoza will appear solo for “Candidates in Conversation,” Arizona PBS’ debate series, because Rep. Juan Ciscomani refuses to participate. Ciscomani is spending his day rallying with Speaker Mike Johnson in Tucson rather than debating Mendoza and answering for his disastrous, cost-hiking agenda.

Ciscomani has voted with Mike Johnson 100% of the time, including to gut Arizonans’ healthcare, protect reckless tariffs, and greenlight another forever war in Iran that’s raising prices at the pump and putting American troops at risk. Last year, Ciscomani was the second highest recipient of campaign donations from Speaker Johnson and party leadership.

The debate, hosted every election year by Arizona PBS, is an Arizona political tradition that Ciscomani participated in past cycles.

“Juan Ciscomani works for his D.C. party bosses, not for Arizonans,” said campaign spokesperson Kyle McCarthy. “Rather than answer for his disastrous, cost-hiking record – including voting to gut veterans’ healthcare, send us into another forever war with Iran, and approve reckless tariffs that are raising our prices – Ciscomani will spend the day cozying up with Mike Johnson.”  

Both Ciscomani and Johnson voted to cut public broadcasting funds on which AZ PBS relies.
